Treasure: My KitchenAid Hand Mixer

 

For Christmas, I was overjoyed when I received my new empire red KitchenAid 9-Speed Hand Mixer. This shows that I am growing up ...ugh... but I finally got to take it for a first run, and I love it! I made a double-layer pumpkin cheesecake (I found the recipe on allrecipes.com last Thanksgiving), and it worked through the cream cheese and everything very well! I love my new toy! :)

Treasure! Avocado Slicer and Pitter

Just a day or two after I was telling my mom I didn't want to put avocado on my oven nachos because I didn't feel like cutting it up (so messy and frustrating), she comes home with this avocado slicer from the Williams Sonoma Outlet. At first, I thought it looked pretty worthless, but it actually does the trick quite well and you don't have to take the avocado out of the skin either... SO easy! Today, I am having oven nachos with black beans, mushrooms, avocado and cheese with Pace Picante salsa! YUM. Thanks mom!
